For kids from age 2 to 3, if you let them decide which song or audio book to play on your computer, you will free yourself. And give kids the freedom to choose is a great fun for them and will boost the learning desire inside each child. 

Here is what I did for my daughter. Creat a lot of QR code cards for her to choose to play on my PC. QR code in the cards is just the path to the song or audio book or video file on my PC or internet.

I have written a simple python program to doing following things.

Create a QR code

- Python program will create a QR code based on the path the song or audio book or video clips stored on your PC.

- Later I will save them as images and put 6 of them on a A4 paper using powepoint. Then print out them.

- Draw a simple picture on the other side of the paper. An indication to which song or audio book it is about.

Recognize QR code

- A webcam is used to connected to your computer. It is used to recognize the QR code created above,

- Python program will recognize the QR code and play the song or audio book or video clips stored on your PC.

How your kids use the small QR code paper?

Your child will more than happy to choose a "card"/song/audio book/video. They are very good at remember every card.

They pickup the small card and turn the QR code towards webcam, while your child is looking at the picture you drawed on the paper. 

QR code is recognized by python program, and selected song or audio book or video will be played on your PC.

Your child will throw the card right away and start to sing a long, dance ...
